This post is a bit late since Oliver actually arrived on December 29th. I removed his face-up, gave him a bath and a thorough wipe-down with a magic eraser. It removed all the staining from his body and a good portion of it from his head. His head was much better after some sanding. Not perfect, but I'm also kind of impatient and didn't want to keep working at it. No formal photo shoot yet. New semester starts tomorrow, so it probably won't happen for quite some time. Anyway, here's a quick shot of how Lydwen reacted when I stood them next to each other for the first time.

I'm sure they'll be good friends once they get to know each other.

Yesterday, someone posted a Dollzone Luke for sale on Dairyland. Now, I've always said I won't be one of those people who buys dolls impulsively in the marketplace, but I seem to have become one. I contacted the seller today to say I'd buy him. All that's left is to arrange payment and wait. ^_^

His current name is Oliver and he'll be my first second-hand doll. I'll probably keep that name until/unless he decides to change it. I don't have much planned for him, but he'll probably be friends with Lydwen.

I'm so excited! New dolleh!

I finally gave Janten a face-up! I've only had his head for what, a year or more? >.>

I'm really happy with how it came out. I can really feel how much I've improved since my first face-up attempt. *cough*Keilin*cough* Connie will probably stay as she is for a while. I expect her face-up to be the first to chip/wear (I play with her so much), so I'll just wait and redo her then. Keilin on the other hand... At least I no longer feel like he's judging me all the time, but now he just looks shocked that I haven't repainted him yet. Better get on that.

Here's a shot of Janten looking nerdy, as he usually does.

I had some unexpected free time today, so I decided to finally give Connie a haircut. Then I decided I really don't like the hood on her shirt and turned it into a collar. Then I thought, "the entire shirt is too loose," so I took the sides and sleeves in a bit. But then her skirt was falling off, so I tighted the waist up.

In the end, I'm very happy with the final result.

SURPRISE DOLLY!

I wasn't even expecting a shipping notice for a couple more weeks and here he is! My boss (mom) texted me before class on Monday to let me know there was a very tall box from China waiting at the office. What?! But I'm not ready for him to arrive!

I had to sit through class AND do a bit of running around at the college before I could drive into work and unpack my boys.

Tarket is handsome and has a bit of smirk that isn't visable in the promo pics. The deer boy, who I've named Briar, is absolutely adorable! Full box opening photostory is some time away due to school, work, and a messy room. Here's a teaser of Briar.

About five and a half weeks ago I ordered Tarket. (SQUEE!)

Tarket will be a Doll Zone Tarket. I got in right at the end of the promotional event and Jeeryama was awesome with responding so quickly and making that happen. Coming home with Tarket is a deer boy who has yet to be named.

Tarket is supposed to be kind of a tough-guy, manly character. We had quite a discussion about how to make him more manly, because bjd tend to be a bit feminine, even the manliest ones. We finally decided that Tarket needs stubble. Stubble. It's manly!

I'm expecting them to arrive late September to mid October.

As you may have noticed, Janten's body is here!

It arrived on Monday, only three days after it shipped! I am impressed!

When I first took Janten's body out of the box, a coworker (yes, I get my dolls delivered to work) pointed out how long his legs were. I've never noticed this before! Suddenly I was worried the sweatpants I'd made for him wouldn't fit and I'd have a naked doll hanging out in my room. I guess long legs are normal though because the pants fit fine, but now I keep noticing how long-legged all my dolls are.

Along with Janten's body, I ordered a carrying bag, so I can easily bring a doll with me anywhere, and a couple wigs. The bag is great, well made with lots of pockets and padded straps to hold dolls in place. The wig I ordered for Maniko is a little big on her, but not terrible. The bangs will need a trim though; I can't see her face! The other wig I ordered (which is actually meant for Tingaroo, but is on Janten right now) is a combination of synthetic and natural fiber. I'm not too happy with it right now. The synthetic fiber is used for the bangs. It's very stiff and stands out as being different from the rest of the wig. I'm hoping a bit of styling will help.

I'll try to get a photostory up soon. The pictures have already been taken; I just have to edit it all together.
